Get larger PNGs off Sporepedia Hack

When Sporepedia was first launched, you were able to pull large PNGs from each creature profile. Now, when you right-click and "Save As..." the PNG that you get is tiny. Follow these steps to get a larger PNG for your viewing pleasure.

*This doesn't work on IE7, but it definitely works on the latest version of Firefox.

Here's what you do:

1. On Sporepedia, open the creature you want a PNG of.
2. Drag to select the image of the creature.
3. Right-click the selection and click "View Selection Source." A new window will open that displays the code of your selection.
4. Copy the image code that ends in "_lrg.png"; this is the large image that is displayed on Sporepedia.
5. Paste the image code into a new tab or window to view the larger PNG.
6. To save the PNG, right-click the image and click "Save As..."

Spin Parts That You Normally Can't

If you're not getting the circle on certain parts for spinning around purposes (like mouths, for example), try using the tab button to see if it will give you that ability.

Using Other People's Creatures Hack

If you have your own Spore hacks to share, join the site, then click Easy Edit to add your hacks!

If you go to Sporepedia, you can browse and search other peoples creatures. The best part is you can actually edit & use their creatures to make your own version - sometimes this is easier than starting from scratch.

Here's what you do: Open your browser, then open Spore. Choose create new creature. Toggle back to your browser to visit Sporepedia online. Find the creature you like. Click on it to get to it's details page. Then left click & drag the displayed creature image and without letting go, drag it down and hold it over the Spore Creature creator in your windows task bar (buttons at the bottom of your computer display). Don't let go until your are fully in the new creature creator area. Wait a few seconds and in will the stolen creature come.
