Spore for DS, Help!

I'm onto the second planet, Pangu. After attacking Gar'Skuther's ship, and having him set a creature on me, which I have defeated, he flies off in his ship, leaving behind a planet token. After he flies off, I cannot move my creature, and the screen is focused on the rotating planet token. Help! I've created another spore creature, but I don't know if the same thing will happen. :-s

I am in tribe mode but it wont let me collect food! My people just keep lining up with the food and they wont put it in the basket! I need food to buy things and domesticate things...help please???
